THE EXISTING TEMPLE IS LOCATED ON A SITE AREA OF 44,680 SQ.FT, CONSISTING THE TEMPLE COMPLEX, A MADAPALLI AND A NADANA MEDAI SURROUNDED BY FIELDS ON ALL SIDES, WITH THE ENTRY LANE PARTED FROM A PRIMARY ROAD THAT LEAD FROM TIRUVONAM TO KARAIKUDI.
THE TEMPLE COMPLEX HOUSES A GARBHA GRIHA FOR THE MAIN DEITY FACING EASTERN DIRECTION, SEQUENCED BY A MANDAPA & AN ARDHA MANDAPA MARKING THE ENTRANCE, ENCLOSED BY AMMAN SANNATHI, VANAYAGAR SANNATHI TOWARDS SOUTHERN DIRECTION AND FOUR OTHER SMALLER SHRINES FOR THE SUB DEITIES ON NORTHERN DIRECTION ALONG WITH A COW STATUE. ALL THE SHRINES ARE SURMOUNTED BY A CUPOLA WITH FINIAL ATOP.
THE PROPOSAL IS TO RETRO FIT THE TEMPLE COMPLEX AND INTRODUCING DWAJA STAMBHA AND A RAJA GOPURAM. THE RETROFITTING WORK INCLUDES PAINTING, SCULPTING & REPAIRING WORKS RELATING TO THE CULTURE, HISTORY & DEITIES PRESENT ON THE TEMPLE. BOTH RETROFITTING AND PROPOSALS ARE DESIGNED BASED ON AGAMA VIDHIGAL, VEDIC PRINCIPLES, VASTU MANDALA AND EARTH’S AXIS.
